Let the Snow Fun Begin!

With all the snow this winter, we've had lots of snow fun. You've seen water painting and sledding, future posts include three wheeling and what-to-do-when-you-can't-go-out-because-of-the-snow, and here, Snow ice cream! Made all the better by adding M&Ms!

More Random January....

I took the kids out one "warm" winter day to paint the snow with colored spray bottles of water. They had a blast with the water (which didn't work all that great) and then tried eating some snow! (And, that is Grace laughing... not crying!)
Cooper is learning to write his name. This was very early on, but currently he is just about to master the R!
I bought Christmas MM's WAY on sale, and had the kids sort them for Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day cookies. They love it and it keeps them busy for quite a while!
And, finally, Grace on Crazy Hair Night at Pioneer Clubs. I totally spaced it until we walked in, but Pastor Brenda hooked us up in the craft room!

Random....

Nick came for a play date in early January. I love it when they find their hands! "What is that thing?!"

Aunt Margaret turned 91. After a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday she said with a giggle, "And here's to not too many more!" God bless her!

And, practicing our first sounds by finding things in the house that start with our letters!

And, again, I love to catch them napping!

Good times!

Ice Day...

WARNING: IF YOU HAVE AN AVERSION TO NEEDLES, DO NOT VIEW THE FIRST FOUR PICTURES BELOW. ;)
The day we had ice in the morning, Tim drove us to get Cooper's regular blood work done. I grabbed the camera in case he let Tim hold him.... but he chose "No one. I'll sit by myself, like a big boy." ?!?! What the ?!?! The nurses eyed me cautiously, and I said in my best brave mommy voice, "Well ok then, hop up there." We're very fortunate to have great nurses who know us well enough to trust this idea! And, he did great!!! My baby boy is not so much a baby any more! Such a proud and sad day. This is all thanks to Parents Magazine and their report on pain free blood draws... EMLA numbing cream is obviously amazing!
The roads were fine by the time we finished, so, with school closed for the day we headed to the museum for a Drake Family Fun Day! We practically had the place to our selves. The kids had a great time, enjoyed digging for dinosaur bones, and playing with their pretzel snack!

It's a good year for sledding!

We've gotten to go sledding several times this year, and the kids LOVE it! This was our first time out and Cooper showed no fear by hopping on his sled and just taking off! It took Grace a couple of times with us, but then she was off on her own as well! It was so fun to hear them giggling all the way down the hill! And they can finally walk back up the hill on their own!!! Cooper is so small and low to the ground that every time he took off, lickity split, I would think "I probably should have put his helmet on him!" And, it was almost just as fun to let your sled go down and then chase after it! Good times and more to come!

Happy New Year!

Finally! Moving on to 2011!!! All pictures have been resized and are ready to go!
The start of January was spent napping, crafting, computing, and dressing up. This is Cooper napping in Grace's top bunk during nap time. I still love finding him when he sleeps! So funny!
Grace is a CRAFTER. We just cleaned up an entire bag of paper trash that she left behind in her cutting wake. Love that girl, but I'm certain our house is a fire hazard due to all projects!!
And we still love our PBS Kids . org time. They are so focused! ( I especially love Cooper's little feet sticking out from the pillow!)
