Chirstmas 2010 On the Farm

We all made it to the farm for our Cooper Christmas. (All but Monica). The Drakes got the living room this year allowing the Coopers to have the room with the crib. (As we speak the other bedroom is being finished so we might get a bed next year!) The kids wouldn't go to sleep early and later ended up on the air mattress with us - which was ok because it got kind of cold!!

It was great to hang out with everyone and we were again ridiculously blessed by our family. Good times all around.

(I think there is a group picture out there somewhere.... I get camera envy when I'm around Ben and Laura's camera, so they have all the pics from that day. I'll have to look for them.)

Ok, so maybe by March....

Anyway.... Christmas!

First up - Christmas treats we made. Yummy!

Then Christmas morning. We got a new camera for all of us - the kids are having a great time taking pictures of EVERYTHING... feet, couch, Moot, curtain, toast, Daddy! It was a fun morning with the kids. Grace went straight to organizing and putting her things away when we were finished opening presents. I don't know whether to be proud or freaked out that maybe I've made her OCD already! And, the kids played first with each other's toys! (Grace with Cooper's Legos, and Cooper with Grace's fish game.) Guessed wrong on that one! And at some point they settled in with their pillow pets to have Daddy read their new books to them. Good times!

Exhausted!

We are still here and doing just fine!

(Though is it hard for me to feel sorry for your lack of Drake news when you email from sunny Florida and I watch another 1-3 inches of snow pile up in our yard! Love you!)

Blogging has fallen behind for two reasons...

1. I've been sick, I am tired, and we are back in the swing of business.

2. We got a new camera and pictures are split between them, and I just finally figured out how to get them off the new camera and onto my computer.

BUT! I've got it now, and have things lined up to hopefully finish 2010 before February!

Christmas Fun Begins.....

We started our holiday season with brooms from Aunt TaTa! The kids love them and I love that they use them! Cooper helped Tim read his recipe for lasagna - too cute and delicious! - and we made candy for our gatherings.

Worn out! I still get a kick out of finding him in strange places after naps. One day he was yelling for me and I found him stuck in the bottom of his closet under two suitcases!

Museum Trip #3

Tim was sad to be missing out on our museum fun, so off we went for our third trip this month! It was way fun to have him along. I didn't realize how little I get to play with my kids when it is just me until Tim came along and we could "divide and conquer" this time! We hit our favorite first, the carousel and fun mirrors (can you imagine six of them?!?!). The boats and health house are always fun and at some point Tim and Grace snuck off and made some wheat DNA. She was so proud of it! And finally we ended our day participating in a traditional Egyptian sebou - the welcoming and blessing of a new baby! Very fun and made us miss our Curli even more! Another great Drake Family Fun Day for the books!

Super Reader (well, memorizer, anyway)

I had heard Cooper reading Grace's Fancy Nancy Tag book often through out the day. So when he showed off that evening that he had MEMORIZED the entire book, I'm not sure why I was so shocked! He cracks us up!
