Memorial Day

First of all, Cooper is doing much better. Sunday came with some spitting up, but he was fine by the evening. I think he is over it, but now has some serious molars coming in and is pretty crabby. He is better every day, though!
On Memorial Day Ben and Laura called to see if we wanted to come for hot dogs and putt-putt. We finally were able to say yes to their request! (No newborns, pregnancies, naps, or illnesses!) We had a fire and played Frisbee. By then it was after 7:30, and we decided not to try the golf this time. Laura's parents and brother were there and everyone had a good time with our kids! Tim and I enjoyed just sitting around the fire for a bit while everyone else played with Grace and Cooper!

Cooper barely made it out of the driveway.
Grace wanted her picture, too...
This was what she really looked like!
Then she wanted me to take a picture of Daddy.
And then she wanted to take a picture of me!
But finally they both gave in to exhaustion from all the playing!
It was a good time and someday (Hopefully soon! Hee, Hee!) Ben and Laura will understand why we need a bit more notice for such outings!!

Foiled Plans

My next post is supposed to be of our time at Uncle Ben and Aunt Laura's for Memorial Day weekend, but I wanted to share this with you today.
We were supposed to be in Ohio this weekend visiting Margaret, but last night as we got the kids into their jammies just before getting on the road, we discovered that Cooper had a fever of 102! (Bad Mommy not to have noticed sooner!!) So, we were able to cancel our reservation and put off leaving until the morning. But, Cooper had such a rough night that we decided taking the kids was a bad idea, so Tim went by himself. (He met his Uncle Bill and cousins Rod and LaRanda there.) Cooper spent the majority of the day on the couch, sleeping, and finally perked up around 4 for a little while. He is drinking plenty and ate a little bit as well. I was pretty calm about it all until about 330. His fever had already broken around 230, and he was still sleeping!!! But, by 400 he was ready to play and dance! He was a little slow and tired, but altogether pleasant! He is now down for the night - I hope!

So Grace said, "Fine, I'm going to the farm." (Or, Mom said, "And you are going to the Farm!") And we packed up her things and sent her to Grandma and Grandpa's for the night!

Finally some nice weather

I call these "Jammies in the morning garden".

I'd like to learn more about how to focus the camera manually, someday!

And, with nice weather comes growing grass and a favorite past time of watching Tim go back and forth on the mower!

Weekend Get Aways

While Tim spent a weekend in DC recently, (See Mandi and Jill's blogs for details of his trip.) the kids and I headed to Ohio to spend the weekend with cousins, Amy, Aaron, Ava, and Abigail. While we did nothing exciting, it was wonderful to share two days of nothing with family! The kids had a great time playing and Amy and I enjoyed adult conversation and an extra set of eyes as we went about our daily routines of naps, snacks and meals!

I'm a sucker for cuteness in natural light!

Hey, bite my finger....
Someone smaller than me...
to bully...
(Where he would learn such things, I don't know!)
(I played with the color of these two.)

We played Princess Dress Up, and Mommy won!
(It was reminiscent of the old days when Cousins Beth and Amy would give Monica and Me makeovers. :) I have a picture of that, but couldn't find it for this post. Maybe later.)
Group Shot after our bath and just before we headed home.
(There were of course some nudie pics of bath time for Aunt/Grandma Patty, but chose not to post them!)
This is how we really felt!
Good times!!!

Video phone with Monica

Monica got her video phone up and running, so we are able to chat with her now. The kids often stand too close, but are always entertaining!

Happy Mother's Day

Yes, Yes, I know. I am WAY behind on my blogging. I have lots to post and not much time! With the great weather we just seem to go, go, go!
Anyway, Mother's Day...
We spent the weekend with Grandma Margaret. We are still trying to figure out the best time to travel, when to visit, and how much everyone can handle in one weekend. We enjoy seeing her and she loves it when we are there. We see her on the video phone about twice a week and go there once a month. She seems to be doing better at settling in.
That weekend was a little cooler than I packed for, but that didn't stop us from enjoying a large outdoor McDonalds's Play Land!

We went to a deaf church on Sunday morning and were able to stay for the Mother's Day Tea Party back at the nursing home. Grace had Teddy Grahams in her tea cup!
What a photogenic family....well, at least we try! :)
They had a juggler who made balloon animals for the kids!
