Last Day (Part 5)

When we planned this vacation, we blocked out the whole week knowing the weather would be a major factor in this trip. The weather was perfect starting on Sunday, lasting through Tuesday and becoming questionable on Wednesday. So, we left it up in the air just when we would return. After two perfect days, and with the forecast showing a chance for storms in the night and again on Wednesday, we decided to spend one last day hiking and at the beach and then pack it up and head home. It was so nice to not have computers around (do you know how much you can do before 10 AM without Facebook, emails, or blogs to check?!?!!?) and to not be on a schedule. We just did what we wanted, and when!
So, Tuesday morning we got up and had our PopTart breakfast around the fire, took a hike on the bird watching trail (aka the "mosquito breeding grounds"), and then headed back to the beach! Again, I L...O...V...E watching them play. (Grace would use a shovel to bring water to her projects!) (She was awfully proud of the pinecone she found, as well!) Tim took the kids out farther than I really liked this time also! It was finally a hot enough day to enjoy the sun, use my beach umbrella, and enjoy a picnic on the beach. After our fun in the sun, it was time to clean up and tear down camp. The kids had a craft to color while we worked and Cooper fell asleep in in the van in, less than 10 minutes.... while he was eating! Grace said, "He is sleep eating!"
Good times. Can't wait for more! Bring on more great summer fun!
